West. Elect. Type K
DC Transmitting Triode
1916

The Type K was designed to be a military transmitting triode, running at 500 volts on the plate. The military objected to the use of 500 volts and the design was abandoned and replaced by the Type E, which became the VT-2. The Type K was given the number 202-A but was never in production. This is a large tube, 5.6 inches tall with a 50 watt size base. This is the first known use of the base which became standard for 50 watt types.
