Marconi Q
DC Detector Triode
1916 (British)

The Q was designed by Captain Henry Round of Marconi and featured small size and low capacitance. The grid is made from nickel gauze. Although designated as a det/amp, it was mainly used as a detector. The high plate resistance did not make it very useful as an amplifier. The Q was later replaced by the QX.
